Engineer Manager / Software Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced and passionate development manager; the Software Development Manager will provide technical leadership and management for the technology team. You will work on latest cloud based services and leverage machine learning to deliver highly reliable and massively scalable services. This hands-on position requires broad engineering competence and in-depth technical knowledge of object oriented design, Java or similar programming languages, service-oriented architecture, as well as demonstrated experience successfully planning, organizing, and conducting software development projects in a dynamic environment.
This is a high profile position, with huge business impact and influence, managing a team of skilled developers that support a global business. We are looking for hands on manager that will roll sleeves to work with developers, is highly analytical and ready to be technically challenged. In this role you will:

  • Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.
  • Implement highly available services that deal with big data.
  • Be hands on with coding to ensure timely, high quality delivery of features and services.
  • Instil best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
  • Manage departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, enhancing and maintaining a best-in-class engineering team.
  • Maintain and improving existing software.
  • Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior management.

Experience: 10 – 14yrs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals and software development.
  • Strong coding and design skills.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • 2+ year of people management experience.

  • A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects.
